ULAB Explores Strategic Partnership Opportunities with Huawei Bangladesh

The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) hosted a high-level meeting with a delegation from Huawei on 19 July 2026 to explore partnership opportunities between ULAB and Huawei Bangladesh. The discussions focused on potential collaboration in technology, innovation, research, industry-academia engagement, and talent development.

The Huawei delegation was led by Mr. Ma Ben, Managing Director, Huawei South Asia, and was accompanied by Dr. Yang Huey, Director of the Confucius Institute, Dhaka. Representing ULAB were Professor Shamsad Mortuza, PhD, Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Golam Kibria, PhD, Dean, School of Science & Engineering, along with faculty members from different departments and senior university officials. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation through joint initiatives in education, research, and innovation.

During the meeting, the delegation was introduced to ULAB's newly established Future and Emerging Technologies Laboratory (FETLAB), an open innovation platform for industry, education, and society. The Huawei representatives expressed interest in the platform's vision and discussed opportunities for future collaboration in research, emerging technologies, innovation, and capacity building, reaffirming a shared commitment to fostering technology-driven education and sustainable development.
